20 Examples of Use of OnlineNotes

OnlineNotes can be used for countless purposes. Here are some examples of things you can do with it.

Saving info that you can access from any place in the world

You can save any information and view it using a web browser from any place in the world. This is more reliable than having the same info in your PC or smartphone as these can break down at any moment or may get stolen or lost, data can be deleted accidentally, and you may not have these devices with you when you need the info. In OnlineNotes each single record can be set as private, shared with other users, or set as public. Data can be encrypted/decrypted in the browser for absolute privacy.

Saving web links

You can save web links along with any comments under any OnlineNotes section and category. Links are clickable for immediate access to the respective sites. You can set links to open web pages on a new window or reuse the current window.

Keeping to-do lists

You can insert records representing tasks or things to do, with or without a due date. As tasks are completed you can move them under a "done" category. You can apply the email scheduling function to any record and in particular to task records, and have an email sent to you at any appropriate date and time, as a reminder of the things to do. The email body includes the record contents.

Saving contacts

You can save contacts, preferably under section "contacts" and any appropriate category. You can create any number of categories. You can write contacts in your preferred free format, including clickable web and email links.

File uploading and downloading

You can upload and download files of any kind. This will allow you to build an online file archive, with any number of subfolder levels. And you can easily include links to your archived files in any records, and open or download the respective files with just a click.

Image archiving, image viewing and slide shows

You can upload your pictures to OnlineNotes in any folder structure. OnlineNotes will automatically create an image gallery for any folder containing images (will also create the respective thumbnails), and a global gallery index. You can then comfortably view the images in any gallery and even run impressive slide shows.

Advertising your firm's product and services

You may insert records referring to your firm's web site with any useful comments.

Keeping a secret journal or a public blog

You amay use OnlineNotes to keep a private journal or a public blog. A "date" attribute can be used to associate the current date or any particular date to any record.

Sharing any info with family members, friends or colleagues

You can define a user group including specific OnlineNotes users and share any records with that user group. Only the users belonging to that user group will be able to view the concerned records.

Sharing your favorite restaurants' list with your friends

You may insert records containg info about your favourite restaurants and let other people see them.

Publishing your favorite cooking recipes

You may insert records containing cooking recipes and let anyone see them.

Scheduling an email for a particular date and time

You can have an email sent to you or other people's email addresses for a particular day and time, as a reminder of things to do.

Contacting another user

If you find an interesting note written by another user and wish to contact him/her, you can send a OnlineNotes internal email message to that person, with your comments or questions. You can read personal information about any OnlineNotes user, such as age, sex, city and country of residence, personal presentation, and view all notes published by another user.

Saving temporary information

You can save any information in a private notepad accessible by clicking a dedicated menu item

Publishing any info on the web and letting other people access it by means of a particular web address

If you insert one or more records in a PeopeNotes category, you will automatically get a web address which will allows anybody to access a OnlineNotes page with all the records of that category. This web address is periodically submitted to search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing, and may appear in pertaining search results.

Watching info published by other users on various subjects

You can watch notes inserted by other users that have been marked as public.

Chatting with registered and uregistered users

Anybody, including unregistered persons, can use the OnlineNotes chat.

Using the OnlineNotes forum to make announcements or ask questions

OnlineNotes registered users can post messages in the local forum. Any person (registered and unregistered) can read posts.

Creating mind maps for brainstorming and to stimulate creative thinking

OnlineNotes records can be viewed in grids or maps. Maps may be useful for brainstorming and to stimulate reflection and creative thinking.

Using OnlineNotes as a tool for self-analysis

You may use OnlineNotes to record aspects of your personal life or of your own personality.
